Laurenn Barker

Bronze sculpture & wearable art in bronze
Art is a universal tool of communication. Like music, art opens up the soul and brings people together. I enjoy sculpting pieces that make people smile, that build bridges, and that touch the emotions of the viewer.

Kelly Berning

Ceramics
Residual damage is the root of my ceramic work.  Involuntary interactions with predatory individuals may profoundly affect the life of an innocent person. Although the source of this terror may disappear physically, the anxiety still lingers and starts to be controlled by the by the unconscious. I use clay to transport ideas from the inside of my mind to the outer world.

Trent Berning

Ceramics
My sculptural work studies specific symbols suggesting elements of time. The symbolic reference of this particular body of work speaks of the camaraderie that occurs while sharing time with friends and family. This work is meant to be seen, felt, and assist in the reflections of the time (whether good or bad) spent with the people that are closest to you.

Karen Cunagin

Textiles
Karen loves to be at home and finds significant themes in family, the garden, the bible, and contemporary Western culture. Honoring the traditions of fabric media she also stretches the concept with unusual applications of color, surface design, and embellishment. Personal story accompanies each plane of piecing quilting and surface texture, preserving memory in the context of well-homed design.

Maria De Castro

Clay
The images of my work reflect my fascination with the mystery of relics and ancient artifacts which is inherent in many of the pieces I create. The "Feminine Sacred" is also an integral theme recurrent in my work. I am captivated by humanity's reverence for the devine female.

Printmaking
As a young kid my parents moved from California to Arizona where I was raised on a cattle range. It was there that I came to love the wide-open space of the Southwest. As an artist I have always been drawn to printmaking as a way of expressing that early impression of sky and land. As I get older my prints are evolving to include more symbols that represent the fragility of life; perhaps another lesson from the desert.

Debbie K. Forbes

Watercolor/oil
Debbie grew up in the Pacific Northwest where she began studying oil painting at age 12 with instructor Frances Bond. She considers herself to be primarily self-taught, and credits her love of the outdoors, nature, and animals for her crisp and brilliantly colorful interpretation of her surroundings. She continues to be recognized for her representational watercolors depicting beautiful escapes that anyone can appreciate. Debbie also creates unique permanent painted works on glass and crystal, as well as works in tile and glass mosaic.

Vicki Gammell

Pastel
Art has always been a part of my life. As a child I was inspired by nature. I daydreamed about the flowers or animals I would paint when I got home with acrylic or oil. I lived in Hawaii for two years when I was a young adult and have since visited once or twice a year. I tried pastels two years ago and fell in love with them. I am very passionate about botanicals and tropical scenes.

Sculpture
My sculptures have taken a diverse direction as I interpret the world around me. The representational work I create is intended to exude a feeling from which the onlooker can absorb. This form is for the observer to feel, interpret, and respond to. They can enter the moment of time that the sculpture depicts. The larger formatted work is made mostly from found materials. These expressive forms and materials will challenge observer. Sculptures like these will let their imaginations react to the form.

Kay Kalar

Watercolor (some oil and pastel, mixed media)
My art is an expression of my deep faith and love of life. I strive to paint what matters, to capture what is important, what speaks to my heart and the hearts of others. Strong composition, bold color, and sensuous passages define my work. My style is bringing in subjects, people in life - up close and personal, discovering nuances beneath the surface.

Jan Lee Lumkin

Oil, acrylic
As far as I can remember, my passion has been art and poetry. All things, animate and inanimate, have a tale to tell. My mind can superseed all rational thought and arrive at some fantastic conclusion, formed in a place I like to call "My Nurturing Soul." It is a comfortable place, lacking prejudice, where my creativity flows through the mysterious realm of, "I wonder" and "What if?" Whether asleep or awake, I often find insiration in my dreams.

Michael Maas

Acrylic paintings
These paintings, primarily acrylic on panel or canvas, are from an on-going series which I began in July 1997. Although the forms are imaginary, the illusions of depth, light and surface, along with the allusions to botany and biology, give people a strong sense that the paintings portray something very "real." My goal with these "relationship" paintings is to create images which do suggest a feeling, but are "open-ended" enough to allow each viewer to experience these feelings in his or her own personal, and sometimes unexpected way.

Les Perhacs

Bronze, stone, steel sculpture
I have always been involved with nature - I find my inspiration in rock formations, the animal form, the architecture of nests, and skeletal structures. A sculptor can take much from nature where there are no line, only edges. Because the focus of my work is the relationship of elements, I see no conflict in working back and forth between realism and abstraction; for me, the language is the same.

Fernanda Natale-Reynolds

Oil
Fernanda believes in pursing excellence; there are no shortcuts. Art is achieved by constant training, under the influence of contemporary masters. The sharing of knowledge in turn completes the artist.

Jack Ragland

Oil painting
I have been drawing and painting as long as I can remember and always wanted to be an artist because it is my joy and passion. When painting I see the world more intensely and meaningfully which I translate into design, form, and color. Hopefully the art work will communicate to others the richness I felt in creating it. Creating something that has never existed before gives me a reason to get up in the morning. Now my daughter often paints in the same studio, and this gives me even greater pleasure.

Natasha Ragland

Oil painting
I got a very early start with exploring painting and drawing growing up around my dad who is a full time artist. I always chose to render animals - especially wildlife from Ranger Rick magazines. I still favor the subject matter of portraits and animals. I majored in music, producing an album of my own original songs which complements my art work.
